Easy raglan sweater

This pattern is intentionally very basic, highly customisable and adaptable: see it as more of a guideline for creating your perfect sweater than a hard and fast rule book!

Collar

Optional. If you do not want a collar, work round 1 then skip to Yoke.

Ch 82

Round 1: dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 dc in each ch, join with a sl st to first dc, ch2, turn (80)

Rounds 2-4: (fpdc, bpdc around), join with a sl st to first dc, ch2, turn (80)

Do not Finish off, continue to Yoke

Yoke

Round 1: 12 dc, (dc, ch1, dc) in next st, 16 dc, (dc, ch1, dc) in next st, 23 dc, (dc, ch1, dc) in next st, 16 dc, (dc, ch1, dc) in next st, dc to end of row, join to first st with a sl st, ch 1, turn (88)

Round 2: *dc to ch-space, (dc, ch1, dc) in ch-space*. Repeat ** 3 more times, dc to end of row, join to first st with a sl st, ch 1, turn (96)

size 36: repeat round 2 until there are 66 stitches between the second and third ch-spaces

size 38: repeat round 2 until there are 68 stitches between the second and third ch-spaces

size 40: repeat round 2 until there are 72 stitches between the second and third ch-spaces

size 42: repeat round 2 until there are 78 stitches between the second and third ch-spaces

size 44: repeat round 2 until there are 80 stitches between the second and third ch-spaces

Do not finish off, continue to Sleeve separation

Sleeve separation

Round 1: dc to first ch-space, 2 dc into ch-space, ch4, skip to second ch-space, 2 dc into ch-space, dc to third ch-space, 2 dc into ch-space, ch4, skip to fourth ch-space, 2 dc into ch-space, dc to end of row, join to first st with a sl st, ch 1, turn

Round 1: dc around, join to first st with a sl st, ch 1, turn

Repeat Round 1 until body reaches desired length.

Rounds 2-3: (fpdc, bpdc) around, join to first st with a sl st, ch 1, turn

Round 4: (fpdc, bpdc) around, join to first st with a sl st.

Finish off.

Sleeves

Repeat for each sleeve.

Join yarn at armpit of sleeve.

Round 1: ch 1, dc around arm hole, join to first st with a sl st, ch 1, turn

Round 2: dc around, join to first st with a sl st, ch 1, turn

Round 3: dc2tog, dc around until 2 sts remain, dc2tog, join to first st with a sl st, ch 1, turn

Repeat round 3 until the sleeve is as narrow as desired.

Round 4: dc around, join to first st with a sl st, ch 1, turn

Repeat round 4 until sleeve reaches desired length.

Round 5: (dc2tog, 2 dc) around, ch 1, turn

Continue to Cuff without finishing off if desired, otherwise finish off and weave in ends.
