Materials

  • 3.5 mm hook

  • 200m/ 100g Sport weight yarn

  • Yarn needle

  • Stitch markers

  • Scissors

Stitches

  • Chain (ch)

  • Magic ring (MR)

  • Single crochet (sc)

  • Single crochet increase (inc)

  • Single crochet decrease (dec)

  • Half double crochet (hdc)

  • Front post double crochet (fpdc)

  • Back post double crochet (bpdc)

  • Joining slip stitch: put hook through the stitch from behind, hook through the front of the target stitch, yarn over, pull through all loops on hook

  • Decrease row: sc up to 3 sts before marker (dec, 2 sc, dec), sc to end of round

Notes The fingers must be made in the specified order. Pattern makes one glove that fits on a right or left adult hand.

Mark the beginning stitch of each round.

Instructions

Thumb

Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6)

Round 2: inc around (12)

Round 3: (sc, inc) around (18)

Rounds 4-17: sc around (18)

DO NOT FINISH OFF.

Cut yarn leaving a long tail (enough for 3 more stitches).

Put aside.

Index finger

Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6)

Round 2: inc around (12)

Round 3: (3 sc, inc) around (15)

Rounds 4-20: sc around (15)

Finish off.

Middle finger

3 joining slip stitches into last row of Index finger.

Starting in the 4th stitch away from the last joining slip stitch made on the middle finger, 3 joining slip stitches into last row of middle finger.

Pinky finger

Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6)

Round 2: inc around (12)

Round 3: (5 sc, inc) around (14)

Rounds 4-16: sc around (14)

Starting in the 4th stitch away from the last joining slip stitch made on the ring finger, 2 joining slip stitches into last row of ring finger.

DO NOT FINISH OFF.

Palm

Continuing on from the pinky finger:

Round 1: sc around the base of all the fingers (do not sc into joining slip stitches) (42)

Remove your hook from the palm.

Pick up the last stitch on the thumb, joining slip stitch the thumb to the palm at stitches 15-17 of the palm ( 3 stitches), finish off the thumb.
