Materials

  • 3.5mm hook

  • (Optional) 2 mm hook if making appliqué eyes

  • Yarn needle

  • Scissors

  • Stitch markers

  • Toy stuffing

  • 3 yarn colours: the main body colour, the eye colour and nose colour

  • Ribbon

  • (Optional) safety eyes to be used instead of appliqué eyes

• Chain (ch)

• Magic ring (MR)

• Slip stitch (slst)

• Single crochet (sc)

• Single crochet increase (inc)

• Single crochet decrease or invisible decrease (dec)

Instructions

--BODY--

In main colour, with 3.5 mm hook


LEGS

Make 2, DO NOT FINISH OFF THE SECOND ONE

Ch 4

Row 1: inc in next st, sc, 4 sc in next st (now working back down the chain), sc, inc in next st (10)

Row 2: inc, 3 sc, inc, inc, 3 sc, inc (14)

Row 3: inc, 5 sc, inc, inc, 5 sc, inc (18)

Row 4: sc around (18)

Row 5: inc, 6 sc, dec, dec, 6 sc, inc (18)

CHEST

Join the second leg to the first leg with 2 slst

Row 6: 7 sc, dec [place marker] , 14 sc, dec [place marker], 7 sc (30)

Stuff as you go

Rows 7-14: sc around decreasing at each marker, moving the markers up as you go (14 on row 14)

Finish off with a long tail for sewing.
